    On the General English Course, you attend a core of 20 lessons per week, which will give you a practical understanding of the English language and take you all the way to fluency. Your confidence will improve as we train you in all four communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. You can also choose to extend and intensify your 20 lessons per week with these add-ons.

    Take an English for Work course at EC and you’ll be ready to take on opportunities in all parts of the globe.

    The highly specialized teaching we offer will enable you to communicate in all situations, confident when interacting with colleagues and able to use the English language to achieve highly specific aims.

    As well as improving your English, you’ll develop many other workplace skills. The ability to solve problems, prepare for meetings and argue for your point of view will prove invaluable as your career advances.

    This Special Focus Programme combines 20 lessons of General English with 10 lessons focused on language study inspired by your destination, for a complete intensive experience that is tailored to you and your personal reasons for learning.

    Spend one lesson each week outside of the classroom with classmates, learning English and getting to know the local area.

    There are plenty of social activities to help you make the most of your time in Cambridge.

Accommodations

    Homestay

    From : 16 years
    Time in transit : 30-40 mins by public transport
    Any student will find that living in homestay accommodation is the best way to practise English outside the classroom. You will be treated as a close friend of the family, couple or individual that you are staying with and will have your own freedom while being respectful to the family’s rules and expectations.

    There may also be up to three other students in the family but they will speak a different native language from yourself. Housing very much varies here in Cambridge. You may be placed in a house (semi-detached/terrace and detached) or a bungalow or a flat/apartment.

    Families in Cambridge are of many different nationalities and backgrounds, but the main language spoken in the house will be English.

    All our host families are carefully selected and each inspected at least once a year.

    Superior Study Inn Studio (available from 05 July 2020)

    Located in a quiet area north of the city centre, there are pubs and a nice café just nearby, and the historical city centre is just in a short walk away.
    Study Inn is a purpose built student self-catering accommodation block. The rooms are large and furnished to a high quality. Each room also includes a private, fully equipped kitchenette with induction hob and en suite bathroom.

    Comfort Kite House Residence

    From : 18 years
    Time in transit : 2 mins on foot
    The house is also very close to a wide range of restaurants, cafes and shops.
    Kite House is a modern city centre building which has recently been constructed. It consists of two good size kitchens including all appliances, 14 single rooms with private bathrooms, and laundry facilities. The house is mixed gender.

    Next to the student house are shops and take-away places (Chinese, Indian, and Turkish), a typical and popular Cambridge pub (CB2), a pharmacy (Boots), a post office, a bakery, and a supermarket (Tesco’s).
