We offer a range of English courses: General English, Academic English and One-to-One lessons. Lessons are dynamic and communicative so you can put into practice everything you learn and use it on a daily basis.

Every week we organize one activity as a part of our social programme, which allows all students at BSA to visit a museum, a market or a drink in the pub with people from other countries. It is optional and there are no extra charges, except for transportation when necessary.

Courses
  • General English
    From 16 years From 12 to 20 students per class Length of course min 1 week Length of lesson 45 min For beginner - proficiency
    Our General English courses are designed to meet the needs of any student who would like to improve their English for everyday life and travel. The courses aim to help students build their accuracy, fluency and pronunciation while also learning important language skills necessary for communicating in English.

    9 hours (3 hours per day, 3 days a week) and 15 hours (3 hours/days) = Morning Course
    20 hours (4 hours/day) = Morning Course + Essential Skills
    25 hours (5 hours/day) = Morning Course + Essential Skills + Essential Functions/Conversations.
    English Plus (30 hours/week) = Morning Course + Essential Skills + Essential Functions/Conversations + 5 hours One-to-One sessions

    Morning Course is structured around recognized course books to provide a balanced syllabus, but teachers are able to adapt the course to the particular needs of our students. There is regular assessment.

    The Essential Skills classes provide additional practice in using the language which is learned in the morning classes. The focus is on the four main skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing and the activation of these skills in order to help students become more confident in their use of English.

    Essential Function/Conversation Course is designed to really get out students talking! Lessons focus on important conversational functions such as talking on the phone, asking for and giving information, and agreeing and disagreeting.

    English Plus is offered for students who want to make rapid progress with their English. Students of this course follow the regular General English syllabus of 5 hours of group class per day. They also have five hours of One-to-One sessions with one of our experienced teachers. This means students can really focus on their strengths, wekness and specific needs, maximising improvement.

    If you are a busy person or you want to improve quickly, one to one is the best option for you. Book as many hours as you want and arrange classes to suit you. The individualised tuition is perfect for those who have a clear vision of their objectives and weaknesses.

  • Academic English
    From 16 years From 15 to 20 students per class Length of course min 1 week Length of lesson 45 min For intermediate - advanced
    Our Academic English course are available for students of strong intermediate (B1+) level and above. Our courses will help students to develop the skills they need to pass official English examinations or study at a UK university, as well as helping develop their general English skills.

    By the end of this course the students will have:
    - Developed their academic vocabulary;
    - Improved reading comprehension of university-level materials;
    - Improved their listening skills;
    - Developed more effective note-taking skills;
    - Deepened their understanding of writing academic texts, including summaries, definitions, essays, bibliographies and critique;
    - Improved seminar, discussion, and presentation skills;
    - Developed learning strategies.

    25 hours per week
    Monday to Friday: from 8:45 to 14:45 (with 2x5 minutes break, 10 minutes break and 40 minutes lunch)

    25 PLUS hours per week

    Houses have different sizes and can accommodate different numbers of people. All houses have shared facilities which can include a common dining room, lounge, kitchen and 1 to 2 bathrooms per house, depending on size.
    All houses are located within easy reach of the school by bus, train and tube. Rooms are either single or shared with one person. Single rooms are limited so please check and book early.
