English Sunny School • 3 weeks

I had a very specific goal — to improve my Duolingo English Test score from 120 to 130, and I didn’t want to travel too far from Israel. The Lingocourse team quickly found the perfect option for me — an English course in Cyprus at English Sunny School. I took a combined program: general English in a group and individual lessons focused specifically on test preparation. The teachers helped me concentrate on key skills — speaking, writing, and listening — and the small group format made the lessons highly effective. In just three weeks, I felt significant progress and gained confidence before retaking the test. Excellent experience and a truly professional approach!

EC, Dubai • 2 weeks

My friend and I planned to spend two weeks in Dubai to improve our English. The Lingocourse team prepared a detailed comparison of all the language schools in the city — showing the differences in programs, prices, and conditions. Thanks to that, choosing a school was incredibly easy. I really liked their friendly and attentive communication, but what surprised me most was that I received about a 15% discount on the course, plus free textbooks and registration. This promotion wasn’t even available on the school’s website! It turned out that booking through Lingocourse was actually cheaper than booking directly.

English Fella, Cebu • 4 weeks

I wanted to book an English course at English Fella School in Cebu, Philippines. At first, I contacted the school directly, and they recommended reaching out to Lingocourse — their official partner. As the school explained, it’s easier for them when students come through an agency since all organizational matters, including visa and document processing, are handled by the agent. I got in touch with Lingocourse, and the team quickly responded to all my questions. I also considered combining two destinations — one month in Cebu and another in Kuala Lumpur — but in the end, I decided to study entirely in Cebu. I booked and paid for the course, and everything went smoothly — clear communication, excellent support, and no issues at all. I’m really glad I found Lingocourse — the whole process turned out to be simple, transparent, and reliable.

English Fella, Cebu • 16 weeks

I wanted to study English abroad for five months, but my budget was limited — about €8,000 for everything, including tuition, accommodation, meals, and the visa. Finding a suitable option on my own turned out to be difficult. The Lingocourse team put in a lot of effort and offered me two great options — English Fella in Cebu, Philippines, and Stratford International Language Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At English Fella, the program lasted 16 weeks with eight lessons per day, including four one-to-one classes. The full package cost 8,345 USD and included a private room with a bathroom, three meals a day (including halal options), and all local fees. The Malaysia option cost 4,779 USD for six months of study, including accommodation and visa support. In the end, I chose English Fella in the Philippines. I’m very grateful to Lingocourse for helping me find a program that perfectly matched both my budget and my goals.

Questions we get asked most often

How much do English courses abroad cost?
The average cost of English courses abroad depends on the country and the length of study. In the United Kingdom, one week of classes costs around £200–500 without accommodation, in Canada about CAD 250–300, and in Malta approximately €200–230. When you add housing and meals, the total monthly cost usually ranges from €1000 to €2000. At Lingocourse, we always stay up to date with promotions and special offers from language schools, so we can find the best options for you at the most favorable price.
If I don’t know the language at all, can I still go abroad for a language course, or do I need at least a basic level?
Yes, you can! Schools accept students starting from Beginner or Elementary level (A0–A1). Before classes begin, you take a placement test and join a group for beginners. Thanks to the immersive language environment, progress becomes noticeable after just a couple of weeks.
Can I start studying at a language school at any time, or are there fixed start dates?
Language courses almost always start on Mondays. General programs (such as General English or Spanish) begin weekly, while specialized courses — like exam preparation or business programs — have fixed start dates. On the Lingocourse website, you can always find the most up-to-date schedule of course beginnings.
Do I need a visa to study abroad?
It all depends on the country and the length of your course. For example, studying in the United Kingdom requires a Student visa, while in the United States you need an F-1 visa — though if your course load is under 16 hours per week, you can study on a tourist visa. In the Philippines, a visa is easy to obtain upon arrival and can be extended locally. In South Africa, no visa is required for courses up to three months, but for longer programs, a student visa must be arranged in advance in your home country. That’s why visa requirements are always worth considering, and Lingocourse experts will guide you through the process and help with all documentation when booking your course.
Can I arrange accommodation together with a language course?
Language schools offer different accommodation options, such as homestays, student residences, or apartments. In most cases, students can choose the type of housing based on their budget and the distance from the school.
Do schools provide textbooks for free, or do students need to buy them?
It depends on the school. In most schools, textbooks and learning materials are paid for separately, but the amount is usually small — around €15–30 per course or level. Some schools include printed materials and online resources in the program fee. The exact details are always listed when booking on the Lingocourse website.
Is there a refund policy if a visa application is refused?
In most cases, schools provide a refund if a visa application is refused, but specific conditions depend on the country and local consumer protection laws. Usually, an official visa refusal letter is required, and the refund amount varies by school and how soon before the course start the cancellation occurs — typically between 80% and 100%. All refund details can always be checked in advance on the Lingocourse website.
How long should I study abroad to see real progress in the language?
To see noticeable progress, it’s usually recommended to study for 4 to 8 weeks. During this time, students strengthen their basic skills and start communicating more confidently in everyday situations. To move up to the next language level, around 10 to 12 weeks of intensive study are typically required. Even a short trip of 2–3 weeks to a language school can significantly boost confidence and improve communication skills.
Are there language courses abroad for school students and teenagers?
Yes, many schools offer programs for children and teenagers. These can include summer camps or holiday language courses. Classes are usually combined with excursions and sports activities, and accommodation is provided in secure student residences with enhanced supervision. Parents can feel confident that their child is in safe hands.
How does the payment and confirmation process work?
You pay a deposit online, receive an invoice and confirmation from the school, and then pay the remaining balance according to the provided instructions.
What programs are available for students aged 16–17?
Students aged 16–17 can often study in general groups alongside adults, but additional rules apply to them: mandatory airport transfers and homestay accommodation under school supervision. In addition, many schools offer special summer camps and programs designed specifically for teenagers in this age group.
