Refund Policy

Lingocourse Refund Policy

This Refund Policy (“Policy”) governs the procedure for issuing refunds to users (“User”) who book language courses through the Lingocourse platform (“Platform”). The Platform provides the technical capability to search, compare, and book courses, but it is not an educational institution, does not provide educational services, and is not a party to the education contract between the User and the educational institution.

1. Status of the Platform and allocation of responsibility

1.1. Lingocourse acts solely as an informational and technical intermediary, ensuring the transfer of data between the User and the language school or other educational institution (“Educational Institution”).

1.2. All educational services are provided directly by the Educational Institution, which independently establishes:

  • the cost of tuition;
  • payment terms;
  • refund rules;
  • booking cancellation procedures;
  • academic policy, schedule, programs, and service quality.

1.3. Lingocourse does not create the content of the educational service, does not control, and is not responsible for the Educational Institution’s fulfillment of its obligations.

1.4. Lingocourse is not responsible for:

  • the quality and content of education;
  • actions or inactions of the Educational Institution;
  • changes to schedules or formats of study;
  • class cancellations;
  • visa decisions or immigration requirements;
  • actions of payment systems, banks, and intermediaries;
  • currency conversion, fees, and crediting timelines.

1.5. Lingocourse’s responsibility is limited to providing accurate technical booking capabilities and transferring data required by the Educational Institution.

2. Application of the refund policy

2.1. Refund, cancellation, or booking modification rules are determined by the Educational Institution, and the User agrees to review them before making a payment.

2.2. If no refund policy is provided on the course page, the Platform recommends that the User request such terms before booking.

2.3. Lingocourse cannot modify or cancel the refund conditions established by the Educational Institution.

3. Booking cancellation before the start of the course

3.1. The possibility of cancellation and the size of deductions are regulated by the rules of the Educational Institution.

3.2. In most cases, Educational Institutions retain an administrative fee even if the course has not started.

3.3. Lingocourse does not charge its own cancellation penalties unless explicitly stated at checkout.

4. Cancellation after the start of the course

4.1. After the start of classes, the decision on refunds is made exclusively by the Educational Institution.

4.2. Most Educational Institutions do not issue refunds for unused or partially used lessons.

4.3. Lingocourse is not authorized to request a refund from the Educational Institution on behalf of the User.

5. Service fees and commissions

5.1. Some bookings may include a Platform service fee if indicated at checkout.

5.2. Lingocourse service fees are non-refundable except in cases of technical error or duplicate charges.

5.3. When issuing refunds, the Educational Institution or payment system may deduct banking fees, currency conversion costs, or administrative charges. These amounts are not controlled by the Platform and are not subject to compensation.

6. Visa decisions

6.1. In the event of a student visa refusal, the refund is processed in accordance with the Educational Institution’s policy.

6.2. Typically, the User must provide:

  • an official refusal letter;
  • the student’s passport;
  • booking confirmation.

6.3. Educational Institutions may retain administrative fees regardless of the reason for refusal.

7. Payment systems and refund timelines

7.1. Refunds are issued using the same payment method used for the initial transaction unless otherwise provided by the Educational Institution.

7.2. Processing time depends on the bank or payment operator and may range from 5 to 30 business days.

7.3. Lingocourse is not responsible for:

  • delays caused by banks or international transfers;
  • additional fees charged by payment operators;
  • exchange rate differences upon refund.

8. Force majeure

8.1. Educational Institutions may cancel or modify course conditions due to circumstances beyond their control, including:

  • pandemics;
  • natural disasters;
  • political restrictions;
  • border closures;
  • strikes;
  • emergencies.

8.2. Decisions regarding compensation or rescheduling in such cases are made by the Educational Institution in accordance with its internal policies.

8.3. Lingocourse is not responsible for service changes caused by force majeure.

9. No Guarantee Clause

9.1. The Platform does not guarantee:

  • the availability of any course on specific dates;
  • unchanged pricing;
  • the accuracy of information provided by Educational Institutions;
  • obtaining a visa or entry permit.

9.2. Information on the website is provided by the Educational Institutions, and the Platform is not responsible for its relevance or completeness.

10. Personal data

10.1. To process a refund, the User may be required to provide Lingocourse and the Educational Institution with additional personal data (e.g., passport copies, visa documents, payment confirmations).

10.2. The transfer of such data is carried out in accordance with the Lingocourse Privacy Policy.

10.3. Lingocourse transmits data to the Educational Institution only to the extent necessary to fulfill the User’s request.

11. Procedure for submitting a refund request

To request a refund, the User must:

11.1. Write an email to: hello@lingocourse.com.

11.2. Specify:

  • the booking number;
  • full name;
  • name of the Educational Institution;
  • course description;
  • reason for the request;
  • supporting documents (if available).

11.3. Lingocourse forwards the request to the Educational Institution and notifies the User of the decision made.

11.4. Processing time depends on the response speed of the Educational Institution.

12. Disclaimer of liability

12.1. Lingocourse is not responsible for any losses, expenses, lost profits, indirect or consequential damages arising in connection with booking or canceling a course.

12.2. The maximum liability of the Platform is limited to the amount of the service fee (if charged) or the amount actually received by Lingocourse.

13. Changes to the Policy

13.1. Lingocourse reserves the right to update this Policy.

13.2. The current version of the Policy is available on the website at the time of the User’s request.
