Courses
General English - 20 lessons per week
For students who are just beginning their English studies, this is an introduction course. It offers a thorough foundation in language designed to get even the most novice student ready to advance to the next level.
The four abilities of reading, writing, speaking, and listening will all be covered throughout the course. Students are thus encouraged to create their own learning methodologies, even at the novice level. Lessons are structured with lots of practice but also with a delicate touch to support those who may not be as confident. Students who succeed will know basic English grammar and be able to carry on basic conversations.
General English - 30 lessons per week
Twenty lessons of group general English and ten lessons of individual private tuition make up this course. In the morning, you can choose to participate in a group class, and in the afternoon, you can choose to receive individual instruction. You and your teacher will work together during your afternoon private lessons to pinpoint the linguistic systems and abilities that need to be reviewed and reinforced.
The course, like all others, focuses on how to put English to use in real-world contexts; language assignments can be relevant to the student's future career or place of employment.
From complete beginners to more advanced students, this course is tailor-made for you.
General English - 40 lessons per week
This course combines 20 group general English courses with 20 one-on-one private tutoring sessions per week. You will be able to take advantage of the morning's group course and the afternoon's personalized instruction. Together with the teacher, you will identify the linguistic systems and abilities that need to be reviewed and reinforced during your afternoon private classes.
Like in all the other courses, the focus is on the practical application of English, and language exercises can be connected to the line of work or profession where English will be utilized correctly and confidently.
All skill levels, from beginner to advanced, can enroll in this course.
Intensive General English - 30 lessons per week
Students who want to put in more effort to become more proficient in English quickly or who want to make the most of their time to practice speaking the language after taking General English would benefit from this course. The results of the placement test will determine the student's level in the General English group.
Conversational English lessons are small-group settings with a maximum of six students. These classes focus on improving students' speaking, listening, and pronunciation skills through activities such as debates, discussions, pair work, and presentations. Competencies in voicing one's views and preferences, expressing disagreement, and negotiating are the areas of practical emphasis.
Exam preparation (IELTS - International English Language Testing System) - 10 lessons per week
IELTS is presently the most significant EFL test for students studying English as a second language; the number of people who must take the test each year is rising, whether it's for overseas university admission requirements or career advancement (employment). Over the past several years, there has also been a significant growth in the number of students sitting the exam in Malta.
Our IELTS classes at Gateway School of English GSE are available every week of the year because we have seen a growth in the number of students choosing to enroll in the exam preparation course. That means you may reserve an IELTS class for any time of year, even for a single week, and you will always receive instruction Monday through Friday. Additionally, we ensure small-group instruction with no more than 8 students per class, allowing the instructor to give special attention to each student's needs.
Exam preparation (IELTS - International English Language Testing System) - 20 lessons per week
The listening, reading, writing, and speaking language skills are all covered in the IELTS exam preparation course, which also gets pupils ready for the test.
The instructor in this course offers efficient practice in every subject area that is required for the exam. The course material is structured to give students a firm foundation in the language tasks that the examiners assess. Our teachers' one-on-one time with each student and small group instruction help to provide the students with the drive they need to maximize their band results.
Our IELTS sessions are available every week of the year, with no set start or end dates. Additionally, there is no set minimum or maximum number of weeks that you can reserve because this mostly depends on the student's English proficiency and the individual's time availability.
Business English - 20 lessons per week
This course is designed to help busy executives who want to improve their English language proficiency for business-related activities. It is organized around the professional responsibilities and work-related scenarios, so students can get to know the language quickly and effectively.
Client interests will inform practical assignments, and students' advanced knowledge and skills will be valued in class, particularly in areas like leadership, creativity, and interpersonal communication. The course's basic ideas revolve around topic-based scenarios that serve to hone students' speaking, writing, listening, and social English skills.
Intensive Business English - 30 lessons per week
The only difference between this course and the Business English course is the frequency of classes. Students who are committed to rapidly improving their Business English skills will benefit most from this course.
By exposing students to a variety of activities that mirror the real world of business, Business English helps them improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Personal development, goal-setting, management, self-awareness, and the value of effective communication in business are some of the topics covered. Other topics include supply chain management, corporate social responsibility, corporate image, and conflict management, which is a crucial skill for any business person to have, whether they work for a small family-run firm or a huge multinational.
Individual General English - 20 lessons per week
An inspiring, user-centered General English course tailored to each student's unique requirements. The student and instructor will work together to determine which linguistic processes and abilities need further work.
As with all of our courses, this one focuses on how to put your English skills to use in real-world situations; the language assignments can even be relevant to your future career.
Anyone from complete beginners to advanced students can enrol in this class.

Housing
Host family (double room with half board)
We have a number of host families who are carefully selected and live within a 5 - 15 minute walking distance from the school, so students who prefer the 'homestay option' will still be in the same neighborhood.
All of the families that host our students are folks we know and trust from our own experiences; our students have always had a wonderful time living with them. Actually, we are familiar with them to the point that we can readily pair students with families that best suit their unique tastes. To further guarantee that the premises and services are upholding their standards, we conduct inspections on a regular basis. The Malta Tourism Authority has issued completely licensed host families to all of our guests.
The fact that they are all fluent English speakers further increases the amount of time students spend using the language.
Private bathroom supplement - 80 EUR per week. Special dietary requirements supplement - 70 EUR per week.
Host family (single room with half board)
For students who would like live with local families, we have a selection of host families that live within a short walking distance (around 5–15 minutes) of the school. This way, you won't have to change neighborhoods. While providing complete immersion in the English language, staying with a host family allows students to actively engage with the local culture and embrace a more familial lifestyle.
We can state with confidence that the families who host our kids are trustworthy individuals with whom our students have always had a positive experience. Because we are familiar with them, we are able to quickly pair students with families that best suit their needs and interests. Additionally, we do routine inspections to see if the premises and services are up to par. The Malta Tourism Authority has issued complete licenses to each of our host families.
