Courses
General English - 16 lessons per week
GHS offer a General English course for every level; the shortest is 16 hours per week. It's ideal for individuals who want to learn English while traveling or for people who have little English proficiency. Since classes are in the morning, you'll have the whole afternoon to discover all that Cape Town has to offer. Since there is no class on Friday, you absolutely must go on a lengthy weekend getaway. Students receive homework assignments three to four times a week.
General English - 20 lessons per week
Anyone looking to begin learning English or increase their current level of proficiency will benefit from this, most popular, English course. Since classes are in the morning, you can spend your afternoons seeing Cape Town and its environs, participating in popular activities program, or just relaxing and hanging out with friends. Three to four times weekly, students are assigned homework.
Semi-Intensive English - 25 lessons per week
If you want to get serious about improving your English, then the Semi-Intensive course is for you. It's not for complete novices. Along with the morning class, students with varying levels of English proficiency will have the option to participate in two separate Focus Groups throughout the afternoon. Survival English (A2), Listen Up (A2+/B1 and above), Write On (A2+/B1 and above), Let's talk (A2+/B1 and above), South African Culture (A2+/B1 and above). You still have two afternoons to do whatever you want.
Intensive English - 30 lessons per week
The fastest growth is guaranteed in intensive training, which is not appropriate for complete novices. Depending on one's proficiency in English, they can select four of the following Focus Groups in the afternoon that are meant to simulate the world outside of the classroom: Survival English (A2), Listen Up (A2+/B1 and above), Write On (A2+/B1 and above), Let's talk (A2+/B1 and above), South African Culture (A2+/B1 and above).

Participants begin each day with a General English class and then spend the afternoons (except Fridays) preparing for the IELTS exam. You will be well-prepared for the test with the help of highly qualified instructors.
You can register for the IELTS and make a payment at Good Hope Studies. Cape Town is home to the IELTS test center, where exams are administered monthly.

The minimum required level for this course is B1+/B2, which is considered Upper Intermediate. The Cambridge entrance exam is mandatory for all candidates. This course is only open to students who have a good Advanced or Proficiency level (C1+/C2). Every applicant must pass the Cambridge entrance exam.

English for Work is available only at City Centre School!

To hone your business English abilities, enroll in the English for Work course in the afternoon after completing General English 16 or 20 in the morning.
