About teachers

Proyecto Peru employs highly qualified, native Spanish-speaking instructors, with over 50% holding certification in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and over 50% having university degrees. The school prides itself on a personalized approach, offering small class sizes with a maximum of 5 students per group, and private lessons that are tailored to meet each student's specific needs, including specialized tracks like Medical Spanish.

Our students

Proyecto Peru attracts a diverse, international crowd of students, with the largest groups hailing from the USA (35%), the Netherlands (12%), Belgium (6%), Canada (6%), Denmark (6%), and Germany(6%). The typical student is relatively young, with an average age of 25 years during the regular season, which drops to around 22 years in the summer months. Most learners come to Cusco with a clear purpose - whether it's for intensive Spanish study, a medical internship, or the unique opportunity to blend classroom learning with meaningful volunteer work in fields like animal care, teaching, or community development. They are motivated, socially conscious individuals looking for an authentic Andean experience that goes beyond traditional tourism.

Accreditation

Proyecto Peru Centre is a fully accredited language institution officially recognized by the Peruvian Ministry of Education . The school has also established partnerships with several universities, including Northeastern University, the University of Alberta, and Windesheim, allowing students to gain academic credit through recognized institutions.

Equipment

The school is equipped with 10 classrooms, maintaining an average class size of just 5 students to ensure an effective learning environment. The facilities include free Wi-Fi, a library, a student lounge, a dining room, a TV room, and a study area. Students also have access to free tea and coffee, an international book exchange, and a "tandem corner" to practice Spanish with local students. The school runs weekly social and cultural activities, such as salsa classes and Pisco Sour evenings, inviting students to get to know one another.
